Alex Brooker presents: one year since our BBC Radio 4 Appeal

Evie Dickinson / Fundraising

It’s been 1 year since our BBC Radio 4 appeal, and what a year it’s been….

I think it’s fair to say we were incredibly lucky with the timing of our appeal – it arrived just before the first of many lockdowns and gave us an opportunity to connect with a new network of like-minded, lovely listeners before we were plunged into isolation and strapped into our furlough sofas.

Thanks to the BBC and everyone who supported our appeal and our work more generally we have been able to stay afloat during the financial storm and our sails are as intact and robust as they’ve ever been.

So, to celebrate a year since our first ever BBC Radio Appeal, we’ve forced Alex Brooker back into the studio – this time in his slippers rather than his winkle pickers, to update you on everything you’ve helped to achieve over the last 12 months. Enjoy…

Thank you so much for listening, for supporting and for caring about amputees in sub-Saharan Africa. If you would like to get even more people back on their feet in 2021, please click or prod the big blue button below…
