Clear out your storeroom, box up unwanted components, and let’s get sprinting
The Legs4Africa August Collection Sprint is now in full swing, and we’re again calling on all our amazing supporters to help us reach our goal of 100 donations.
We’re off to a great start with some amazing clinic partners already on board and collecting components for our biggest Collection Sprint of the year! We’re so grateful to the hospitals, clinics, and prosthetists who have already begun collecting components, and we’re looking forward to receiving even more donations in the coming weeks. Let’s make a real difference in the lives of people living with limb loss in sub-Saharan Africa.
The World Health Organisation estimates that there are 5.7 million people in sub-Saharan Africa who need prosthetic rehabilitation services, and 61% of people with disabilities require assistive devices. Despite this, only a small fraction of these people are able to receive the help they need.
By contrast, the global prosthetics market continues to grow and is currently valued at 9 billion dollars, expanding each time a limb is renewed or replaced due to fit or comfort. In many developed countries, life-changing pieces of prosthetic technology are discarded and thrown into landfills, long before they have ceased to be useful.
We recently received a generous donation from Münch & Hahn in Germany, with enough components to build over 200 legs. Find out more about the donation here.
A Message from Our Supporters
“Donating prosthetic components allows various communities to have access to prosthetic care. Rescued componentry can help someone gain their independence. We are so happy to be able to help as much as we can with this organization” Sydney Jordt, MPO, L/CPO Orthotist, Licensed & Certified Prosthetist, Hanger, USA |

There has never been a better time to take action, so let’s get those shelves cleared.
