Deadline: 25th of September 2022
Legs4Africa is a dynamic charity, delivering legs and renewed independence to thousands of people in Sub-Saharan Africa. Legs4Africa is based in Bristol UK, and is seeking a Treasurer to serve on its Board of Trustees. The Board is currently composed of five people, meeting monthly via zoom, and occasionally in person. We are growing: our origins saw us sourcing a single leg for one person in The Gambia in 2014, and now Legs4Africa ship thousands of legs per year, help improve mobility centres, and support amputees with peer support, counselling and inclusion in community groups.
Legs4Africa employs six talented staff in the UK, 7 in Gambia and 6 in Ghana, along with having many close partnerships and delivering projects across Uganda, Benin, Tanzania, Kenya, Liberia and Rwanda. Over the years, we have grown to a medium-sized charity with income and expenditure just over £500,000 in the year 2021/22.
If you have a background of at least five years in finance, business or accounting, and you’re interested in spending a few hours a month helping guide a fantastic charity, please reach out and we’d be happy to tell you more about the role and about what we do. If you have previously served as Treasurer in a local organisation or charity, that’s ideal. But even if you have not been a Trustee before, but you do have some background in basic finance and a passion for putting those skills to good use, that’s great too!
And if you’re not looking for the satisfaction, enjoyment and creativity of being part of our team, perhaps you have a friend who might be interested in a Treasurer role? If so, pass this advert along!
